Norwest United and Waitakere City are in the final stages of amalgamating and have applied for Club membership with Northern Region Football. West Coast Rangers is now established and a Board is in place with a comprehensive Strategic Plan to deliver against its vision. To support this work the new Club has vacancies for the following full-time roles:
General Manager
Football Director
Lead Technical support
General Manager
Reporting to the Board, the General Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of West Coast Rangers’ Strategic Plan and the Club’s day to day management of the Club’s operations. The General Manager is accountable for all employees and contractors. The General Manager will have strong communication and organisation skills, have a positive attitude and demonstrate exemplary leadership.
- He/she will be a solution’s driven strategic thinker that is focused on creating high performing teams, building engagement and getting results.
- He/she will be able to make the decisions required by the Board.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Strong Leadership and management experience, and experience in the establishment of high performing teams.
- Proven ability in obtaining and maintaining funding (i.e. grants, sponsorships, donations, etc.) in the sporting environment, and servicing relationships with funding stakeholders.
- Proven ability in managing and being accountable for a business unit.
- Understanding of how Football operates in New Zealand, and the role of a Club.
- Proven ability to work with and manage volunteers.
- Proven ability to profitably operate and be accountable for small business activity.

Football Director
Reporting to the General Manager, the Football Director will be responsible for the delivery of all football elements of West Coast Rangers, ensuring its alignment with the WCT football Philosophy and that the Clubs football plans are aligned with and are achieving its goals. The Director of Football will have strong knowledge of how football is successfully played and coached, demonstrating strong communication and organisation skills, a positive attitude and demonstrate exemplary leadership. He/she will be a solution’s driven strategic thinker that is focused on players and coaches achieving their best and on teams being successful, on building engagement and getting results.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Current First Aid Level Two that includes NZQA unit standard 6400, 6401, 6402.
- Current NZ citizenship or work permit
- Full NZ driver licence
- Minimum accredited OFC/NZF B License accredited or overseas equivalent
- Strong Leadership experience and establishment of high performing teams
- Proven capability of planning, managing and delivering football programmes across all areas of the game
- Proven ability to work with and manage volunteers.

Lead Technical support
Reporting to the Football Director, the Lead Technical Support is responsible for supporting the delivery of all football elements of West Coast Rangers, assisting the Football Director deliver the Clubs football plans, with a specific focus on developing and supporting our coaches. The Lead Technical Support will have strong knowledge of how football is successfully played and coached, demonstrating strong communication and organisation skills, a positive attitude and demonstrate exemplary leadership.
- He/she will be focus on delivering technically correct coaching and support that is focused on players and coaches achieving their best and on teams being successful.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Current First Aid Level Two that includes NZQA unit standard 6400, 6401, 6402.
- Current NZ citizenship or work permit
- Full NZ driver licence
- Minimum accredited OFC/NZF C License accredited or overseas equivalent
- Proven capability of planning, managing and delivering football programmes across all areas of the game
- Proven ability to work with, support and empower volunteers.
- Proven coaching capabilities and results
